National Relaxation Day a Resounding Success

For the past month Orsi PR and Tommy Bahama, have been working hard and gearing up for a serious relaxation celebration. Since mid-July Tommy Bahama has been calling on all like-minded individuals to sign their online petition to make August 15th, National Relaxation Day an official U.S. holiday. So yesterday when the big day finally arrived relaxation events took place at Tommy Bahama locations nationwide and Orsi PR made sure the press was there to witness the laid back fun. From Milwaukee to St. Louis, The Grove here in Los Angeles to Tommy Bahama’s corporate headquarters in Seattle media coverage showcased the celebration.

At The Grove, Tommy Bahama spokesperson Gretchen Connelie hung out with Maria Menounos on EXTRA TV and gave away gift cards. In Saint Louis, Director of Retail Stores Mike Barrow spent the morning at the newest Tommy Bahama which just opened yesterday at the Galleria. Joining him was a crew from FOX2 news who showcased the store and the relaxation festivities.

Up in Seattle, KOMO TV and radio were on hand as nearly 200 Tommy Bahama employees put on a special holiday out of office and marched to a nearby park where they held up signs to spell out the giant word “RELAX”. A barbecue with games and prizes followed and all employees were gifted a National Relaxation Day tee-shirt and Tommy Bahama beach chair to keep that relaxation sensation going.

With thousands upon thousands of signatures gathered we are getting closer to making this important holiday official and plans are already underway for next year’s celebration, stay tuned….
