In less than one week, news of the launch of the Hello Kitty Mini Cafe brought in over 153 million hits, while fans went crazy for the yummy assortment of colorful pastries, beverages and souvenirs available!  The Hello Kitty Mini Cafe opened in early April at the Westfield Santa Anita Mall in Arcadia, CA, and was covered nationally by:  Eater LA, Teen Vogue, Cosmopolitan, Mashable, MSN, Popsugar, Hangry Diary, Missbish, Pasadena Star News, Whittier Daily News, and many more, with hits still rolling in.

Based on the popularity of the Hello Kitty Cafe Truck and the Hello kitty Cafe Pop-Up Container, Sanrio has expanded their offering to further reach their fans, with more dining formats to open in the future.  The Hello Kitty Mini Cafe offers yummy treats such as cookies, mini cakes, tarts and a selection of hot and cold beverages. Interning at Orsi Public Relations has been an incredible learning experience and I am so glad that I was given the opportunity to begin an internship here at the end of last summer after studying abroad and then continue that internship during my winter break when I returned home from school. As a current sophomore at the University of Oregon, pursuing a degree in Public Relations and minoring in Business Administration, it’s not often that someone my age and so early on in her undergraduate studies gets the chance to have real hands-on experience working in the PR industry.

Before starting at Orsi, aside from some of the communication/PR-related activities I’d been involved in, I had only taken one introductory public relations course that had given me a basic understanding of what working in the PR world entailed. Interning here has helped me take what I learned and apply that to real life work, while also learning so much more. I was able to work with amazing, well-known clients such as Tommy Bahama and Sanrio and even got to write a calendar listing blurb for a Tommy Bahama event in Huntington Beach that was then shared to different media outlets. I learned how to post calendar listings, track and research media coverage, use Photoshop software to create editorial clippings, and put together client reports. I also got to assist in writing a press release which I had only done once before in school.

Overall I think this internship was a great opportunity and learning experience that has given me valuable public relations skills. I know that what I’ve learned and experienced at Orsi PR will assist and guide me in a future PR career.

Orsi PR is on the search for smart & savvy interns looking to jump start a career in public relations.

We are seeking eager interns for the Fall semester, who have a desire to explore the world of public relations. Must be reliable and have a sincere desire to work and learn. Interns will have a full exposure to the entire PR process by learning to create pitches, organize media clips, update media lists, format client reports and more. Experience in Adobe Photoshop, Vocus (Marketing and PR Software) is a plus.

Interns will work one-on-one with our team on national clients such as Sanrio/Hello Kitty and Tommy Bahama.  There’s a minimum of 10-12 hours per week, M-F 9:00-5:00.

Cherokee, the original American brand known for its casual, comfortable, and affordable clothing, launched its spring collection with a digital spring shopping campaign! Social media fashion influencers were eager to partner with Cherokee because of its great style, and value. Each fashionista received a Target gift card from Cherokee to shop the spring line which allowed them to creatively express themselves with the variety of Cherokee product available at Target and post on their blogs, Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram pages. The cute mommy-daughter duo, WhatAnyaWore, mixed the pastel and print trend with a Cherokee dress and cardigan on their blog, Twitter, and Instagram posts. The girls from the blog Growing Up Glad also showed off their affordable Cherokee outfits on their Facebook, Instagram and Twitter in a girly dresses and shorts. These girls caused quite the commotion with over 15 regrams and were featured on @kidsbabylove and @trendykiddies! Cherokee style posts  gained a lot of traction with over 144 posts and 50+ regrams reaching over 1.5M followers!

Bold printed dresses are an essential for Spring 2016 AND a hallmark of Tommy Bahama. We recently worked with Blogger Nation, a group of fashion bloggers from around the U.S. to show how they would style their printed dresses from the Tommy Bahama women’s collection.

Each blogger brought her own personal style to the look by accessorizing with jewelry, shoes, sunglasses, and jackets. We thought it was a great way to see how versatile these dresses are considering each blogger has her own personal taste.
